siCluster NAS Scales in Performance, Retains Ease of Manageability
New Orleans, LA, Nov 16, 2010 - Scalable Informatics, Inc., a provider of innovative high performance storage and computing solutions, today announced the immediately availability and first customer installation of the siCluster™ NAS scale-out Network Attached Storage product (http://scalableinformatics.com/sicluster).
Scalable Informatics siCluster NAS provide reliable, scalable, and manageable storage capabilities that enable users to scale capacity rapidly and cost effectively, with no downtime. Built atop Scalable Informatics cost effective Delta-V™ storage platform and leveraging the open source GlusterFS™safa file system, siCluster NAS sets new standards for affordable, reliable, and manageable NAS.

Configuration of siCluster NAS is as simple as configuring the external network addresses and the storage volumes. CIFS configuration may require additional steps to interface with an Active Directory™ or similar infrastructure for authentication.
With capacities starting at 10TB and moving rapidly to the many Petabyte region, siCluster NAS scales down and up in capacity as needed, while maintaining excellent economics. Each Delta-V storage node adds up to 32TB usable capacity, and 800MB/s bandwidth. A 96TB usable capacity system has a list price under $1,000 USD per Terabyte. This system configuration provides 6x 10GbE or QDR InfiniBand® ports, and 12x 1GbE ports. Optional top of rack 10GbE or InfiniBand switches are available.
