AMAX Adds Density to ClusterMax SuperG GPGPU System for Compute-Intensive Scientific and Research Development
Blade-Based Cluster Solution Delivers High-Density and Performance with
Maximized Number of GPUs per 1U Rack Space
Fremont, CA ?December 6, 2010. AMAX, a leading HPC solutions innovator, today announced the availability of the new ClusterMax SuperG-B1 GPGPU blade cluster solution for compute-intensive scientific and research deployments. Based on the BladeMax AS-7200G, an advanced high-density 7U 20-GPU blade-based cluster building block, the ClusterMax SuperG-B1 delivers high-density and performance with maximized number of GPUs per 1U rack space. The SuperG-B1 offers a reliable and energy-efficient architecture for high performance computing applications used in a broad array of markets including financial services, oil and gas, life sciences, government and academic.
The SuperG-B1 cluster enables up to 120 of the highest performing GPGPUs plus 120 Intel?Xeon?5600 series processors to be deployed in a standard 42U rack. Featuring the latest InfiniBand technologies, the cluster is equipped with dual 40Gb/s QDR ports per blade for high interconnect speed and minimal latency. The cluster delivers maximum performance with the best CPU to GPU balance and optimized I/O. Boasting up to 94% power-efficiency, the Platinum-level redundant power supplies fuel blistering computational performance using less power with greater reliability. Managed through a single, easy to use graphical user interface, the SuperG-B1’s throughput is maximized by minimizing system management overhead, thus improving total overall performance.
"The HPC market is always in high demand for more computing performance and we are working hard to surpass technology limitations by continuously introducing denser and faster heterogeneous GPGPU cluster solutions," said Winston Tang, Product Development Manager for AMAX. "The ClusterMax SuperG-B1 cluster is an amalgamation of the latest high-performance technologies to maximize technical applications.?
