May 26, 2003 – The LINUX GRIDWARS II Challenge Kit is released. It includes the free CxC JIT Interpreter ‘pl’ and a programmable test tool to run many battle in batch mode and gain statistical information. GRID WARS II is the parallel programming challenge, where competing battle programs written in CxC (“C by C”) fight for survival of the fittest in a grid of processors. It will be held live at the ClusterWorld Conference and Expo in San Jose, June 23-26. HP is again sponsoring the Grid Wars challenge and is providing the computing platform and prizes for this event.
