TeamHPC, Inc. assembles group of industry leaders focused on HPC and software development

Lawrence, KS (April 1, 2004) – TeamHPC, Inc. announced today that it had successfully finalized the structure of a new corporate entity focused solely on Open Source development, customized software applications and High Performance Computing.

In setting up the new corporate structure, TeamHPC, Inc. has assembled a group of Linux engineers and sales and marketing professionals. Corporate focus will continue with software support to existing industry customers that have purchased Beowulf Type computational machines as well as a long list of some of the nations leading researchers.

The opportunity continues TeamHPC’s strategic transformation of building a worldwide support infrastructure and local manufacturing for Open Source solutions. TeamHPC will continue to support microprocessor infrastructures from both Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) as well as support for the industries fastest network interconnects. The company will also function as an end-to-end provider of Linux-based hardware, software, and professional services.

Former Atipa Technologies CTO, Mr. Rocky McGaugh, will lead all technical advancements. Mr. McGaugh has been very instrumental in providing the building blocks for some of the first professionally installed Beowulf Type computational clusters. He was also responsible for building the software foundation for LSU’s Supermike, currently ranked within the top 30 Supercomputers in the World. Mr. McGaugh is Intel Itanium 2 certified as well as AMD Opteron certified. Mr. McGaugh’s industry experience is crucial to the ever-changing Open Source software movement in today’s marketplace. Mr. McGaugh has assembled one of the finest technical groups in the industry. Joining Mr. McGaugh are employees Mr. Will Dinkel, Kernel Developer, and Open Source Clustering Engineers Mr. Mark Bosma, Mr. Phil Regier and Mr. Kurt Gilpin as well as a seasoned hardware, software and accounting support infrastructure. The entire organization currently employs over 68 people and the Linux Technologists have over 25 years of combined experience in building clustering solutions with the Linux Operating System.

Former Atipa Technologies Director, Mr. Bret Stouder, will lead TeamHPC’s business model. Mr. Chris Allison, National Sales Manager, and his team of high performance clustering specialists accompany Mr. Stouder in the business growth efforts.

Team HPC, Inc. will continue to manufacture workstation and server products under the strict guidelines of ISO-9001: 2000. The International Organization of Standards developed these Quality System Requirements and this is the industry recognized standard for Quality Management Systems.
