The heartbeat project has just released heartbeat 1.0.3 as the latest stable release. All users of heartbeat are kindly requested to consider upgrading to this release at their earliest convenience.
To: Linux-HA Community
I have made packages of heartbeat 1.0.3 available for Debian Sid (Unstable) and Woody (Stable/3.0), and Red Hat 7.3, 8.0 and 9. These can be found at:
which is linked from http://www.linux-ha.org/download/
These packages were build from the source in CVS tagged as STABLE_1_0_3 with the following _minor_ modifications to the packaging.
* The release numbers were updated so that different package names were used for different distributions. This is primarily aimed at reducing confusion.
* The attached heartbeat.spec.patch was added to the RPM packages to add some additional dependencies for the ldirectord package. I intend to merge this into CVS.
* The attached heartbeat.debian.control.patch was added to the Debian packages to remove an erroneous conflicts statement that was recently added by me. I also intend to merge this into CVS.
Red Hat 9
Please note that in the past I have tested heartbeat quite extensively with Debian Sid and Woody, and Red Hat 7.3 and 8.0. However, I have not tested heartbeat with Red Hat 9 other than that it builds, installs and appears to run. It is intended for the convenience of people using the Red Hat de jour.
There is a very old version of heartbeat in both Debian Woody and Sid. Work is in progress on transferring this package to a new maintainer so it can be updated. In the mean time the packages available from:
are strongly advised over those in the Debian tree.
