SALT LAKE CITY, Mar. 30, 2005 - Linux Networx announced today the addition
of René G. Copeland as executive vice president for global sales and
marketing. Copeland will be responsible for directing the planning,
organization and implementation of marketing, sales and business development
activities at Linux Networx.
Copeland has over 20 years experience in the high-performance computing
(HPC) industry serving in key executive and management positions at Cray,
SGI and IBM. Most recently, he was vice president of sales for Platform
Computing Inc. where he managed sales for the government, life sciences and
other vertical markets.
In his 17-year career at Cray Research, Copeland held a number of
executive-level sales and marketing positions. He then joined Cray Inc. as
vice president of sales and marketing where he managed the marketing efforts
and the sales activities in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Cray Inc., Copeland managed the world-wide manufacturing
segment at IBM Corp. for the RS/6000 SP supercomputer and held a variety of
senior positions at SGI Inc. Copeland also serviced as President and CEO of
Instrumental Inc., a start-up software company focused on productivity
software for the UNIX high-performance computing market.
Copeland graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a B.S.
Electrical Engineering and later received a M.B.A. from the University of
