    TeamHPC and M&A Technology, Inc. Agree To Merge

    Combination Creates Largest Channel Provider of High Performance Computing and Computational Resources with $62 Million in Annual Revenues; 100% Owned and Operated by Corporate Management

    M&A Technology, Inc. and TeamHPC announced today they have completed a definitive merger agreement that combines TeamHPC with M&A Technology, Inc. to create a new high end provider of high performance computational resources and application specific server systems. The new organization will be the channel’s largest provider of HPC solutions, with approximately $62 million in annual revenues, 3 field offices, and enhanced ISO 9001-2000 registered manufacturing facilities. The company will be headquartered in Carrollton, TX, and TeamHPC will continue to have a significant presence in the metro Kansas City area. The combined business will reach out directly to the growing list of institutions and research facilities that demand on time delivery of computing solutions to help research professionals meet the stringent demands they face daily. The combined company will also benefit from improved operational efficiency in areas such as manufacturing, procurement, marketing, information technology and supply chain management. Magdy Elwany, President and CEO of M&A Technology, Inc. will continue to guide the combined organization. He is joined by Val Overbey, Vice President and CTO of M&A, and Bret Stouder, current President and CEO of TeamHPC. Mr. Stouder will assume the position of Vice President of TeamHPC, a division of M&A Technology, Inc.; Joining Mr. Stouder is Will Dinkel, CTO of TeamHPC and a seasoned team of sales management and technical engineers. The new organization employees over 130 professionals focused on all aspects of the computer manufacturing business. Mr. Overbey said, "This strategic combination of M&A with TeamHPC brings a new and compelling value proposition to our customers. The financial stability of M&A coupled with the known technical prowess of TeamHPC will create a powerful new leader in the High Performance Computing segment. Mr. Stouder said, "This union strengthens TeamHPC by accelerating our manufacturing capabilities and allowing our customer base access to the most cost effective solutions and enhanced customer service in the industry. I am most excited to join M&A knowing that Mr. Elwany and his team have built a tremendous business without leveraging capital from outside sources. Our major competitors boast about the ability to raise millions of venture capital. I believe this is a fatal mistake in today’s business climate. My experience in the HPC arena, time and time again, has shown that research facilities and other entities prefer to partner with solid, stable firms that have built their reputations on technical excellence, customer service and freedom from the fear inherent in the burdens of debt.” TeamHPC, a division of M&A Technology, Inc. will feature a 128 node demonstration cluster housed in their Carrollton data center. This cluster will be one of the largest available to researchers, vendors and potential customers. The cluster will consist of microprocessor architectures from both Intel and Advanced Micro Devices. It will also provide individuals access to parallel file systems for high end storage designs, an opportunity to test applications on high speed interconnects plus the ability to utilize new products from compiler, debugger and MPI optimization companies. The company has already signed agreements with Pathscale, The Portland Group, Myricom, Foundry, Panasas, Terrascale and others.
