Streamline Computing appoints influential parallel computing veteran as CTO
    Tuesday July 12 2005 @ 06:59AM EDT

Warwick, UK - 4 July 2005. Streamline Computing today announced that Dr John Taylor, a well-respected and influential figure in high performance computing, has joined the company as the Chief Technology Officer for its high performance cluster business.

John has previously held senior technical and commercial management positions at Quadrics, Meiko Scientific and Concurrent Systems.

Streamline Computing, the UK's leading provider of high performance Linux clusters and producer of the world's most efficient gigabit clusters, has announced the appointment of Dr John Taylor to the company as its Chief Technology Officer for its HPC cluster business. John brings more than 20 years technical and commercial experience within the high performance computing (HPC) sector to Streamline and will be responsible for continuing the company's strategy and growth within the HPC and enterprise computing markets.

"John brings over 20 years of experience in product marketing, and development and a strong technical marketing ability to quickly evaluate the potential of new markets and offer high value propositions" said Dr Richard Groves, COO of Streamline Computing. "With John on board, Streamline has reaffirmed its investment in outstanding people who really understand HPC technology to enable the company to provide HPC solutions that are second to none. John will add a significant strategic element to Streamline as the company continues to develop its high value offerings in the HPC and enterprise space".

"The scope and depth of the company's understanding in HPC is what attracted me to Streamline together with a shared vision on the way forward to capitalize on this experience" said John. "Its momentum in the HPC market and its ability to deliver solutions that offer substantial value were fundamental to my joining the company's impressive and talented team of HPC engineers and support staff".

John took his first degree and PhD in physics and material science at Warwick University and will work from Streamline's headquarters in Warwick, UK.

Streamline Computing is the industry-leading provider of bespoke high performance and cluster computing systems. Since its spin-out from the Universities of Warwick and Oxford in 2001, Streamline has delivered over 250 clusters solutions to more than 30 leading universities and commercial organizations. Streamline is the chosen supplier of HPC and parallel and distributed computing systems to many blue-chip organizations globally and in the UK.
