    Tyan's S5380, S5370 and S5372 Deliver Unprecedented Solutions for a Growing IT Industry

    Every fine-tuned server requires the best core components available in order to provide the fastest performance possible. The processors, the memory, and the motherboard platform itself must be top-notch in order to provide the speed and power needed to perform to the demands of ever-hungry high-end applications. To answer these requirements, Tyan has broken out several new server platforms to meet customer expectations on performance. For high-end performance servers which need expansive I/O and full-scale capabilities, there is the Tempest i5000PX (S5380), and for entry to mid-range servers, the Tempest i5000VF (S5370) and the Tempest i5000VS (S5372).

    The S5380, S5370 and S5372 are all based on Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor 5000 series technology with exceptionally fast core speeds, high-ranking 64-bit technology, built-in virtualization and security, and brand new dual core capabilities. Starting with the Tempest i5000PX (S5380), features of this full-sized server platform include:

    - Support for two (2) Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor 5000/5100 series processors, 64-bit, Intel® Virtualization Technology, built-in anti-virus technology, and much more
    - Uses the Intel 5000P chipset with Intel I/O Acceleration Technology
    - Supports up to eight (8) DIMMS of Registered DDR2-667/533 ECC FBDIMM memory
    - (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports for streamlined network communications
    - Expansion support with PCI Express slots, PCI-X slots, and BMC memory socket -- includes one universal Riser slot for expansion in a rackmount application
    - Remote management features including optional IPMI 2.0 support, all in a 12" x 13" SSI EEB form factor
    -- the large form factor lends itself to a full-breadth of features designed to meet or exceed customer specifications for server components

    The Tempest i5000VF (S5370) offers its own set of features to differentiate from its bigger brother, features such as:
    - Support for two (2) Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5000/5100 series processors, 64-bit, Intel® Virtualization Technology, built-in anti-virus technology, and much more
    - Uses the Intel® 5000V chipset with I/O AT
    - Supports up to four (4) DIMMS of Registered DDR2-667/533 ECC FBDIMM memory
    - (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports for streamlined network communications
    _ Expansion support with PCI Express slots, PCI-X slot, and PCI 32-bit slots
    - Remote management features including IPMI 2.0, all in a 12" x 10.5" SSI CEB form factor
    -- CEB form factor provides for a denser population of servers and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by compatibility with lower-cost system components

    The Tempest i5000VS (S5372) offers some of the same great features found in the S5370, and more:
    - Support for two (2) Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® 5000/5100 Sequence Processors dual core support, 64-bit, Intel Virtualization Technology, built-in anti-virus technology, and much more
    - Uses the Intel 5000V chipset with I/O AT
    - Supports up to six (6) DIMMS of Registered DDR2-667/533 ECC FBDIMM memory
    - (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports and (1) Fast Ethernet (10/100) port
    - Expansion support with PCI Express slots, PCI-X slot, and PCI 32-bit slots
    - Remote management features including IPMI 2.0, all in a 12" x 10.5" SSI CEB form factor

    The Tempest i5000PX (S5380), Tempest i5000VF (S5370) and Tempest i5000VS (S5372) are sampling now, and will reach mass production levels in late Q2'06.
