PSSC Labs Nears 1000 Cluster Milestone
Posted by Alex Lesser, Thursday April 30 2009 @ 11:48AM EDT

April 30th 2009 -- Signaling widespread acceptance of cluster technology, PSSC Labs is quickly approaching a milestone delivery: the company’s 1000th PowerWulf Cluster shipment. “We are extremely proud of this achievement,” begins Larry Lesser -PSSC Labs President, “our PowerWulf Clusters can be found all over the world; involved in all aspects of critical research projects.” Currently the company is shipping approximately twenty to twenty five turn-key PowerWulf Clusters per month. Each cluster is custom configured for maximum performance, reliability and ease of use. All PowerWulf Clusters ship with PSSC Labs’ CBeST (Complete Beowulf Software Toolkit) preinstalled and pretested. According to Mr. Lesser the goal of each PowerWulf Cluster delivery is to “allow our end users to focus on their work and not managing a bunch of computers.”

PSSC Labs achievement is even more impressive when considering recent difficult times for other companies in the high performance computing arena. Asked to comment on the reasons for PSSC Labs success, Mr. Lesser points to simple facts. “First we do not outsource any step of the process, this gives us complete control. Second we test, test and retest our systems prior to delivery,” asserts Mr. Lesser. PSSC Labs’ failure rate is significantly below industry averages. This can be attributed to the three to four weeks of testing each PowerWulf Cluster as a complete solution. “Very often we do not see problems arise until many weeks of running Linpack benchmark tests,” explains Mr. Lesser. “We have heard other companies ship within 48 or 72 hours. From our perspective this does little, if anything, to find and diagnose problems. “ PSSC Labs approach identifies and solves any hardware / software issue prior to leaving their factory. Finally, each PowerWulf Cluster includes FREE, UNLIMITED, LIFETIME support for all CBeST components. According to Mr. Lesser, the company is obsessed with providing the highest level of support possible. “It is engrained in our company culture.”

Moving forward PSSC Labs will capitalize on their experience and expertise; and continue to deliver the highest quality products with an unwavering commitment to support. Although the company may not be the most highly recognized in the industry, PSSC Labs’ excellent product quality, commitment to technical support and strong financial position will help them reach their next milestone.

About PSSC Labs PSSC Labs is not just another computer company. A commitment to customer satisfaction, careful attention to detail, and a focus on high performance computing differentiate PSSC Labs from the pack. PSSC Labs’ line of PowerWulf Clusters, PowerServe Servers, PowerStation Workstations and RaidStation Storage systems are custom configured for each end user's needs and budget. For those tired of dealing with computer companies that promise the world but leave them stranded, PSSC Labs makes all the difference. Every day, more companies are discovering why PSSC Labs is the right choice. For more information please visit http://www.pssclabs.com
