Star-P Earns a Coveted HPCwire Award Third Year in a Row

Austin, TX — November 17, 2008 — Interactive Supercomputing has once again been recognized in the annual HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards, presented at the 2008 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC08), in Austin, Texas. Interactive Supercomputing’s Star-P product won the Readers’ Choice Award for Best HPC Software Product or Technology.

The prestigious HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards are determined through online polling of the global HPCwire audience, along with a rigorous selection process involving HPCwire editors and industry luminaries. The awards are an annual feature of the publication, representing prestigious recognition from the HPC community and are revealed each year to kick off the Supercomputing (SC) conference.

Star-P delivers interactive parallel computing power to the desktop. It enables faster prototyping and problem solving across a range of biomedical - as well as financial, scientific, and engineering - applications. Star-P eliminates the need to re-program applications to run on an HPC server for parallel processing using complex languages such as C, FORTRAN and MPI (message passing interface) which would otherwise require arcane programming knowledge and months to complete.
