RLX Simplifies Cluster Management for Workload Optimization
HOUSTON, TX, October 15, 2003 - RLX Technologies™, Inc., the leader in modular computing announces the introduction of a new version of the RLX HPC Cluster Manager. Version 1.1 extends the power of cluster management to OpenPBS cluster environments.
RLX HPC Cluster Manager optimizes the performance and utilization of Linux®-based clusters, and provides customers with an aggregated view of HPC Clusters. Through the RLX HPC Cluster Manager, even nominally sized HPC clusters of 60 - 70 RLX ServerBlades can realize up to $100,000 annual operational cost savings over standard servers using customized HPC cluster scripts. This innovative, leading solution shortens the time of deploying HPC clusters and reduces the cost of maintaining and re-deploying server resources.
"HPC Cluster Manager is truly unique in the industry," stated Scott Farrand, vice-president systems engineering and software, RLX Technologies. "No other vendor has such a powerful, easy to use, and comprehensive cluster management tool to drive workload optimization and cluster utilization up. This 'point and click' tool speeds reprovisioning time while shortening the time needed to get to result."
About RLX HPC Cluster Manager
The RLX HPC Cluster Manager solution manages, monitors and aggregates all elements of a high-performance compute cluster. HPC Cluster Manager provides an efficient means to bring together all the elements needed to build a cluster. Once operational, HPC Cluster Manager proactively monitors all elements of the cluster for early identification of issues, speeding problem response and resolution - leading to higher utilization and availability. The result is higher cluster productivity, utilization, and substantially lowers operational costs. Beneficiaries of this new solution will be administrators of computational-intensive workloads in areas such as bioinformatics, to seismic rendering to simulation and modeling.
RLX HPC Cluster Manager starts at $2499 for the control server, plus $250 per managed node.
